BOOST is an intensive, part-time course designed to propel you to the next level in your journey as a contemporary circus artist.
You will study a range of skills including theatre, dance, conditioning and flexibility as well as electing your preferred skill disciplines to focus on.
This course has a strong focus on creativity and physicality to enable you to develop as a well-rounded artist.
This is an exciting new opportunity to train with our team of experienced tutors who will guide you to push your limits and evolve your voice as an artist and your personal expression.

Course Details
Course Dates: 22nd September – 17th December
Location: Cherry Orchard Community Centre, Dublin
Attendance:
- Friday afternoon, Saturday & Sunday full days – in person classes.
- 1 hour on Tuesday & Wednesday mornings – online classes
- 1.5 hours of private tuition, outside of class times, per-week in your primary discipline.
- 1st & 2nd of November – Creation & devising focused days
In weeks 1 – 6 classes will focus on developing technique and building repertoire. The focus will switch to creation and act development in weeks 7 – 13 as we build towards a showcase performance as a conclusion to the course.
In addition, there will be weekly talks from industry professionals each week in topics chosen to help develop your network and equip you with the knowledge you need to support your future work.
Is this for me?
In order to apply to participate you must be:
- An emerging circus artist, 18 years and older, based in Ireland and looking to improve your skills and opportunities in the circus arts sector in Ireland.
- Available for the full duration of the course.
- Demonstrate that you are committed to circus as a career.
- Willing to pursue a tough physical training regime
- Show prior experience in circus, dance, gymnastics, parkour/extreme sports, martial arts or theatre.
We are looking for creative and enthusiastic people who are willing to take risks, push themselves and are open to trying new things.
Course Fee
Course Fee: €1200 payable in one or two instalments.
This includes:
- 260 hours of in-person, group classes
- 24 hours of online classes
- 18 hours of private tuition
- 15 hours of group devising and creation
- 108 hours of free training space
- 317 hours of tuition in total
- A professional recording of your act

Alain Servaint
Theatre Tutor
Actor, director, musician and writer, Alain worked for 25 years across disciplines and cultures through a combination of visual arts, dance, theatre and music and touring internationally with more than 20 shows. He specialized in mask acting and the connection between acting, movements and music.

Angelica Santander
Theatre Tutor
Clown, director and social circus facilitator, her work combines theatrical circus and clowning elements. Angelica strives to create original work that exposes and questions the essence of our humanity, its ridiculousness, purpose, fears and desires. She has many years of experience of working with, and creating work for children and adults alike.

Chloe Cummins
Aerial Tutor
Aerial performer and instructor specialising in aerial hoop and fabric, coaching since 2019. This year she presented RESONANCE, an aerial theatre piece which takes inspiration from growing up as a CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult) and includes ISL (Irish Sign Language) physical theatre and aerial hoop.

Deidre Griffin
Dance Tutor
Performer, choreographer and teacher working across dance theatre and contemporary circus. Trained at the Inchicore College of Dance, the Duncan Conservatory and has a BA in Dance Theatre from Fonty’s Dance Academy. Her company ‘Headonbody’ creates work characterised by wild absurdity and high physicality. Deirdre has toured extensively with many of Ireland’s top circus, theatre and dance companies.

Emmet Louis
Hand-balancing and Flexibility Tutor
Trained in Circomedia, Bristol and the National Centre for Circus Arts, London. He worked as a performer in the corporate circuit in London until an injury ended his performance career. For the last 13 years he has worked as a coach full-time. He is the creator of the Modern Methods of Mobility system and co-creator of Handstand Factory.

Fadi Zmorrod
Acrobatics and Conditioning Tutor
Multidisciplinary award-winning circus artist and tutor specialising in Chinese pole, acrobatics, chair balance and cyr wheel. Fadi trained in Vertigo Circus School, Italy, and went on to tour internationally for years with contemporary circus & dance companies such as Cirkus Cirkör, KVS, Les Ballets C de la B, etc., and also performed his own work in festivals & theatres around the world. Fadi has been simultaneously teaching for various circus & dance schools across Europe and Palestine for the past 15 years.

Grant Goldie
Manipulation Tutor
Juggler and manipulator of objects, Grant’s overt interest with object began at an young age. Via several jobs, which have a certain amount of flair associated with them, he managed to find a use for spinning trays, flipping bottles and his collection of brooms. He has performed in over 30 countries, won awards at festivals, and was once described as ‘Dancing in the face of Gravity’

Monika Palova
Aerial Tutor
Aerial performer and mentor with a focus on solo and duo rope, fabric and hair suspension, Monika attended professional circus training in London and Barcelona. She spends countless hours exploring her limits trough durational and physically challenging performance. Her technical understanding and passion for sharing allows her to attend aerialists of all levels and support their development in the direction they desire.

Seve Feathers
Hand-Balancing and Flexibility Tutor
Image maker who uses circus and visual art in original striking imagery of a poetic nature in cross disciplinary work exploring psychological and philosophical issues with a view to provoking thoughts and sharing a journey with the audience. Seve has trained and performed internationally and has been coaching for over 5 years.
